Student activities include all class related projects which take place outside
the classroom and all extra-curricular activities which support the mission of
Central School.
Scheduling of Student Activities
-
All student activities, curricular
such and field trips and extra-curricular such as fund raisers are to be
presented to the principal for his approval by the sponsor of the activity.
-
The sponsor is to then consult the
administrative office, presenting the principal’s approval, so that the
activity can be placed on the school calendar in a timely manner.
-
All fund raising activities done
for and in the name of Central School or the Central School Corporation must
be approved by the principal and the Central Fundraising Committee of the
Board of Directors.
Publishing Activities
-
The school newspaper, print
or online, and yearbook are instruments for developing communication
skills and do not constitute a public forum. The layout, design and content
must be in keeping with the mission of Central School and must be approved by
the sponsor or teacher as well as the principal.
-
Since Central School is not a
public forum and is not a public property, no person, including staff,
teachers, students, guests or parents, is allowed to make announcements or to
post announcements or information without permission from the principal.
Organizations
-
In order to charter or to form, all
organizations must have the expressed written consent of the principal. Each
organization must renew its charter each academic year in August.
-
The principal may disband or
dissolve any organization which is not in compliance with the mission of
Central School.
-
The Student Council
represents the entire school but is made up of students elected from the 7th
through the 12th grades. Procedures for the election of the
council and its duties are determined on an annual basis. Only those students
with a grade average of 78% or above, with no excessive absences or tardies,
and with no suspensions or excessive detentions may stand for office for the
council. Council members whose performance and behaviors fall below these
standards may be removed from the council.
-
Fellowship of Christian Students

-
4-H is available for
students in grades 4-12.
